NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) is an amino acid precursor to Glutathione, the master antioxidant of the human body. Our glutathione reserves play a central role in the detoxification process of the body. Synthesizing glutathione requires a high level of metabolic activity. As we age, our glutathione reserves often decrease. Exposure to toxins, environmental and physical stressors can also decrease glutathione reserves.
